An actuator is an addition to fluid control products enabling the movement of a component within the product. In Ham Baker’s case, this could be to open and close a penstock or valve. Simply an actuator is a “mover”. Actuators require an energy source and a control signal.
Gearboxes consist of a series of integrated gears within an enclosed housing unit and are used to transmit mechanical energy to operate and alter the torque and speed to open and close Ham Baker Group products such as penstocks and valves.
Ham Baker supply actuators and valves specifically set to operate products supplied by the business.
Ham Baker can supply and retrofit both actuators and gearboxes, please contact us for details.
